STYLE OFF is a hairstyling competition presented to you by PAIA. This competition is open to all Hairstylists and Braiders in Ontario. It is about showcasing your talent. We have 4 categories which are 45 minutes each. Each category is judged and the winner get a prize of $150. We have a grand winner who participates in all 4 categories and has the highest points. The grand winner receives a hairstyling package worth $250 in value plus $350 cash.

Our categories are:
CORNROWS
The participant gets 45 minutes to braid cornrows on their own model. Please note that, as a participant. You are required to bring a friend or colleague as your model.
CLASSIC UP DO
The participant gets 45 minutes to create a classic up-do on a model of their choice. This classic up-do can incorporate braids in it if you choose. The aim is to wow the judges with creativity.
AVANT-GARDE
This category requires you to think outside the box and impress the judges with a unique and out-of-this world Avant-Garde. There are no rules to what it should look like, the participant gets 45 minutes to work on their Avant-Garde.
JUMBO BRAIDS
The participant is required to complete this category in 45 minutes. In this category, you are required to complete the best, neatest jumbo braids you can in a short space of time.
COMPETITION RULES
Participant is required to bring their own models for all 4 categories.
Your model has to come with hair that is not curled and pre-braided. Everything will be done on stage.
Participants are required to bring their own equipment, we will provide a station and mirrors.
Participants will work with 1 assistant who cannot coach them on stage.
All participants have to be at the venue and ready to set-up 20 minutes before the competition starts.
A winner will be announced after each category.
